I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run this Baby Loss Awareness Week 9-15 October.

Support me as I take on 5, 10 or 15km in support of Sands, helping them to continue to build a world where more babies survive and more families receive the happy ending they deserve.

Ribbon Run is a sponsored run, walk or jog where thousands of people come together to remember their babies and raise funds for Sands. It’s free to sign up and it’s up to you how you take part. You can run it, walk it, push it, or jog it; alone or with friends and family.

By sponsoring me, you are helping Sands break the silence around baby loss and to continue to save babies’ lives.

£3 - could provide a Sands birth certificate for a baby whose birth cannot be registered through a register office.

£10 - could provide a hand and footprint kit to help create memories.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

**Help Honor the Memory of My Tiny Dancers

Tuesday 27th Aug

In 2021, I faced the heartbreaking experience of two miscarriages. Despite the pain, I was blessed to fall pregnant again in 2022 with twins. My joy was short-lived as they were born prematurely at 22 weeks and tragically passed away the same day. I lovingly call them my tiny dancers, as they would kick and move whenever I played music for them.

Losing a baby is one of the hardest things a parent can endure. It’s not just the loss of a child; it’s the loss of the future you had envisioned. One thing that brought me comfort during this incredibly difficult time was the memory box provided by Sands Charity at the hospital. It’s a small but powerful reminder of my babies, a keepsake I will treasure forever.

Sands Charity provides crucial support to parents dealing with the unimaginable pain of baby loss. Whether it’s through a memory box, a comforting voice on the phone, or face-to-face support, their work makes a real difference. Sadly, Black and Asian women are twice as likely to suffer miscarriages, stillbirths, or neonatal deaths due to systemic neglect. This is why I am committed to raising awareness and supporting Sands in their mission to provide the care every grieving parent deserves.

In memory of my tiny dancers and in support of all parents who have faced or may face this heartbreak, I am running 5K. Every penny raised will help Sands continue their vital work, offering support and hope to those who need it most.

Please consider donating. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference. Thank you.
