I’m walking 100K in September for families facing baby loss
In November 2024 our little girl Florence was born sleeping at 23 weeks, we have also recently endured another loss which was the result of an ectopic pregnancy, so I’ve committed to walking 100K in September for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
The service's and support that Sands provide ensured we received a compassionate level of care during our difficult time with Florence. We had a great team of midwives that helped us through every step from giving birth to memory making also her funeral arrangements.
Every day in the UK, 13 babies die shortly, before, during or after birth. At least 1 in 6 pregnancies end in miscarriage.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
