Walking for Arty

52KM done! Last December walk.

Today was our final walk this December in memory of our boy Arty who we lost at the end of September. I miss him every single second of the day. Baby loss shakes families to the core and raising money to research why it happens is so important as well as helping in supporting similar families to ours. 

43km done. Christmas Day walk.

Today is our first Christmas since losing our boy - to commemorate him we walked our neighbouring Clifton Downs in the shape of his name. We then went to visit his grave - we hope to build this tradition into all our future Christmas’ to always remember him. Xx

Today is the 3 month anniversary of our baby boy Arty’s passing. To mark this we did a long walk in the muddy fields around Bristol followed by a pub roast and a visit to Arty’s grave. The winter solstice gives us hope that things might start to slowly get better.

We just completed our first walk! 

We're taking on the Winter Walk and walking 50K in December for families facing baby loss

Tamás and I lost Arty nearly 2 months ago now. We did the Sands ribbon run and now we need something to focus on again. Getting out in nature is healing, and we need to heal. Luckily there’s lots of countryside in and around Bristol for us to finally explore.  

We’ve committed to take on Winter Walk and are walking 50k in December for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.
