Charlotte's Story

In March 2024 Myself & Grant found out we were expecting a baby. 

Later on In the pregnancy we found out we were having a baby girl. We were so excited.. Preparation was In full swing.

At 37 weeks pregnant, Charlottes heart stopped beating. We had to go through the unimaginable, An experience that no parent should ever have to face. 

Charlotte was stillborn on 24th October 2024.

We were told throughout the pregnancy that our baby was healthy.. Finding out Charlotte had died was so unexpected. It broke our hearts. 

Charlotte had a hole in her heart , and the placenta was not working as It should have been, these both contributed to her passing. We have also since been informed that Charlotte had Trisomy 21, also known as Down Syndrome. 

We would have loved and cared for her so much. The pain will never leave us, but we will hold her in our hearts forever.

We’re taking part in Sands Ribbon Run In Memory of Our girl Charlotte

We're taking part in Sands Ribbon Run this Baby Loss Awareness Week 9-15 October.

Sands exists to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, before, during or shortly after birth, whenever this happened and for as long as they need support. 

By sponsoring us, you are helping Sands break the silence around baby loss and to continue to save babies’ lives.

£10 - could provide a hand and footprint kit to help create memories.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.
