My Updates

Saturday 31st Jan
31 Days, 2km a day. Completed
This challenge holds such special place in my heart. They supported me in the hospital with my sweet Zakai, and I'll forever be grateful. Some days were heavy, some days were hard, but I showed up everyday. I'm so proud of myself for getting through the whole month. For Zakai Sevyn. Always xx

Day 20 of 2km every day.

Tuesday 20th Jan

Some days have felt okay. Some days have felt unbelievably hard.
But every single day, I still get up and I still do it.

I’m learning to honour the little wins — because right now, they matter.
Nothing I do will bring my son back, and that truth sits heavy with me daily.
But there’s comfort in knowing that everything I do now, I do for him.
And for that… I’m proud of myself.

Running/walking 2k or more in January

Friday 26th Dec

I’m still trying to wrap my head around everything that has happened over the last few months. In August, I went into preterm labour with so many factors working against us. From my waters breaking early, to walking into the hospital and being met with complete panic as I began to bleed out onto the floor. I was rushed to the labour ward, truly believing I was about to die, while Zakai was still moving inside me—kicking, breathing, holding on. That day remains one of the scariest of my life.

Zakai held on for over two more weeks, filled with so much hope. But heartbreakingly, I later went into labour and he was born sleeping. In that moment, my whole world changed. I wish with everything in me that Zakai could still be here. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about the life we could have lived together.

In his memory, and in memory of every other precious baby no longer here with us, I’m committing to this. I’m also doing this because SANDS supported me so deeply during my time in hospital, and I will be forever grateful to them, as well as to the hospital who cared for me 🤍
