My name is Cathy and this will be my fifth Ribbon Run for Sands and my second as a Ribbon Run Champion. I lost my daughter Alana at nearly 18 weeks pregnant due to a rare chromosomal syndrome called Edwards or T18. This was on the 15th October 2020 and was an extremely traumatic time for myself, husband and close family. Since October 2021, I have taken part in the Ribbon Run as I wanted to do something positive and help raise money to support bereaved families who have been through a similar experience to me. 

This will be my second year as a Ribbon Run Champion as I host the Bexley Ribbon Run at Danson Park. Last year, we had a great turn out and our run/walk was very special. We would love as many people to join us this year to remember all our babies as we take on the 5km Ribbon Run. It's open to all abilities and all family and friends. You can walk, power walk, jog or run at your own personal pace, whatever you and/or your team are comfortable with. We are a friendly and supportive group of people and would love to meet you.  Please feel free to extend the distance if you want to cover 10 or 15km. 

I will be present from about 9.30am in the Danson Stables car park and will make myself known with Ribbon Run signage, to answer any questions also about the route and fundraising.

NOTE: This Ribbon Run will not be part of the official Park Run at Danson Park which starts earlier that morning so no need to register for that, just turn up and we will be there to greet you all. We will have a 5km route mapped out and distributed on this page beforehand. More details about Sands and the Ribbon Run is below. I look forward to meeting you all on Saturday 11th October.
