We are just under a week away to our Bexley Ribbon Run/Walk - here is the route details below 👇

Hi all, 

So I have created a route for us for our Ribbon Run/Walk on Saturday 12th October - 5km at Danson Park in the free app ‘Map My Run’ or ‘Map My Walk’. Please click on the link below. If you would like the route to show up in the app click the bookmark (little square icon next to the title Bexley Ribbon Run) that will then save the route in the app. Any questions I can help on the morning. I will be at Danson Stables car park from 9.30am. This is where we will start our Ribbon Run/Walk and where we will finish too. The route includes 2 laps to take us up to 5km. Our Bexley Ribbon Run/walk route has now been mapped out for 5km. We can provide more detailed maps nearer the date but this gives you an idea of distance.

My name is Cathy and this will be my third Ribbon Run for Sands but my first as a Ribbon Run Champion. My husband and I devastatingly lost our baby daughter Alana in October 2020. I love to take part in the Ribbon Run to help fundraise for such an amazing charity that has helped my family so much during such a traumatic and painful time. 

We would love as many people to join us this year to remember all our babies as we take on the 5km Ribbon Run. It’s open to all abilities and all family and friends. You can walk, power walk, jog or run at your own personal pace, whatever you and/or your team are comfortable with. We are a friendly and supportive group of people and would love to meet you. 

I will be present from about 9.30am in the Danson Stables car park and will make myself known with Ribbon Run signage, to answer any questions also about the route and fundraising. 

Please do join our local Bexley Sands Ribbon Run page so that we can all connect and do this meaningful Ribbon Run/walk together. If anyone would like to sponsor us too then that would be great. You can click the join us or sponsor us links above.  

NOTE: This Ribbon Run will not be part of the official Park Run at Danson Park which starts earlier that morning so no need to register, just turn up and we will be there to greet you all. We will have a 5KM route organised and distributed to you all beforehand.

We’re taking part in Sands Ribbon Run this Baby Loss Awareness Week 9-15 October.

Support us as we take on 5, 10 or 15km together in support of Sands, helping them to continue to build a world where more babies survive and more families receive the happy ending they deserve.

Ribbon Run is a sponsored run, walk or jog where thousands of people come together to remember their babies and raise funds for Sands. It’s free to sign up and it’s up to you how you take part. You can run it, walk it, push it, or jog it; alone or with friends and family.

By sponsoring us, you are helping Sands break the silence around baby loss and to continue to save babies’ lives.

£3 - could provide a Sands birth certificate for a baby whose birth cannot be registered through a register office.

£10 - could provide a bereaved family with a support pack and resources when they need it the most.

£10 - could provide a hand and footprint kit to help create memories.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.
