We're walking 100K in March for families facing baby loss

This year, we are walking for SANDS in memory of our twin boys, Elijah and Marcus, who died. We lost Marcus due to a late miscarriage and we lost Elijah neonatally at 2 hours old. 

Losing them has changed our family forever. They are loved, they are missed, and they will always be our sons.

Before this happened to us, I didn’t realise just how many families experience baby loss. In the UK, around 1 in 4 pregnancies ends in miscarriage, and every year approximately 1 in 250 babies are stillborn. Thousands of families walk this path each year and often quietly. 

You never think you will become part of those statistics. Until you are.

SANDS supports families through the darkest days offering guidance, understanding, and a safe space to grieve babies who will always matter. Their work ensures parents are not left navigating loss alone.

I am walking to honour Elijah and Marcus.

I am walking for awareness.

I am walking so that other families receive the support they deserve.
