I’m walking 100km in March for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100km in March to raise funds for this vital charity  

Sands were there as a lifeline for me when my daughter died shortly after birth.  Their support gave me strength and I will never forget.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Long walk this morning to get the job done!! First part accompanied by kids - although to be fair this was the closest I got to them!! Thanks again for all the fab support. Walking done! 💚💚💚

Lots of km clocked up whilst getting too and from the amazing Third Sector Care Awards in Birmingham - and fab to spend time with host Sally Lindsay.

Wet wander at Wyboston!

Friday 15th Mar
At the crack of dawn before the managers conference - Liz and I took a soggy stroll round the nature reserve. Very sensibly all the nature was hiding from the rain!! Anyone few more km for the challenge!

Norfolk ramblings!

Wednesday 6th Mar
Away with work - so enjoyed the chance for a ramble around Dunston in the early dusk. More kms added to the challenge total! Thanks for all the support. X

More km covered today - with a chance to catch up with Debbie - hearing about the exciting developments in supporting the care sector. Great to see her and to move forward with this challenge!

Chance encounters!

Monday 4th Mar
Beautiful blue skies in London this morning as walked instead of tube! Great to bump into the lovely Michelle who has generously supported this challenge! Hope for more chance encounters over the month!

Finally started!

Sunday 3rd Mar
First 4km done on the 100km journey. Lovely to do with old friend who has given me so much support through the years! Bring on the next 96km. Many thanks to all the generous sponsors. Xx

I often hear elderly ladies recalling their baby loss stories at the end of life and they reveal secret pain and stories often unknown to the wider family .
