I’m walking 100K in March for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100K in March for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

In Islam it is said that, after a miscarriage when a foetus is returned to Allah, Allah holds the child and carries it into a garden filled with other children.

He says ‘your every need will be fulfilled, play in comfort, rest in peace, all the joys of Jannah are for you.’ To that, the child replies, ‘all the joys of this Garden are incomplete until I’m reunited with my Carrier (Mother).’ 

Upon hearing this, Allah says, ‘that day will come which even if the Carrier is destined for the throws of Hell, you will rescue her with your umbilical cord and pull her into Jannah.’ 

- Sunnah Ibn Majah Vol 1, Book 6 Hadith 1608

Even with these beautiful reassurances provided to us, this is an incredibly testing time for many families. Charities such as Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. 

They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. 

May Allah reward you for anything you are able to donate in this Holy month for this cause.
