I’m walking 100K in March for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100K in March for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

64km in the bag!

I’ve been parking further away.
Walking the long way.
Getting up early to walk the dog.
And weekends, hitting the fields of Westfield to keep up to date with the challenge!
Didn’t keep a track until checking in today…64km this month already!! Wasn’t expecting that!
I am going to aim for 100 miles, so 160km.
The walks I have tracked in here are actual, logged walks on my phone. But I’ve found the tracking app that tracks my total distance too. 
Thank you for all the donations so far. Wasn’t expecting to have reached the target so soon!
I suppose I ought to raise that too!

This year marks ten years since I started volunteering for SANDS.
Ten years with an amazing group of wonderful people (past and present).
Ten years of making changes to the support for Bereaved parents in Hastings and East Sussex.
Ten years of helping to support bereaved parents during the very worst of times. 
It’s also ten years without my girl. She would be ten now, and that’s shit. But SANDS has been there for me too. Through SANDS I have realised that I’m not on my own and there is always someone who will listen if I need it. 
Sharing this more for accountability than sponsorship! (I’ve actually got to get up and out now…last year, every time I planned a big walk there were thunder storms…so don’t expect a sunny March!)
But if you can spare a few pennies to help keep SANDS supporting families for years to come - I will always be grateful xx
