I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run this Baby Loss Awareness Week 9-15 October.

Support me as I take on 5, 10 or 15km in support of Sands, helping them to continue to build a world where more babies survive and more families receive the happy ending they deserve.

Ribbon Run is a sponsored run, walk or jog where thousands of people come together to remember their babies and raise funds for Sands. It’s free to sign up and it’s up to you how you take part. You can run it, walk it, push it, or jog it; alone or with friends and family.

By sponsoring me, you are helping Sands break the silence around baby loss and to continue to save babies’ lives.

£3 - could provide a Sands birth certificate for a baby whose birth cannot be registered through a register office.

£10 - could provide a hand and footprint kit to help create memories.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Our story

Saturday 14th Sep
2013 christmas time, 3 weeks before our beautiful boys due date, we were given them gut wrenching words “I’m sorry, there’s no heartbeat” 💔
Our lives were turned upside down! I opted for a c-section, I just wanted to go to sleep, this felt like a nightmare. Maybe if I went to sleep I’d wake up & it’d all just be a dream.. no. It wasn’t a nightmare, it was real.. our little boy Leo was too perfect for this world 🩵 we spent 4 or 5 days (it was a blur) in hospital with him,  at least we got to spend Christmas together, as heartbreaking as it was hearing all the other new babies who had come into the world, we spent Christmas with our baby boy 🩵 2 weeks later we held his funeral, we were blessed, we weren’t charged for his funeral, his tomb stone or his plot, as horrible as the situation was, we were surrounded by a real caring community, my mum was the/our rock, she arranged it all (after running it through us for final decision) because it was too hard for us to even look at, we wanted the reality to go away 💔 Leo has shown us everyday since, that he is still with us in spirit, be it through his signature numbers (his D.O.B), butterflies, music, words 🥰  we are blessed to have our very own Angel 😇 He has 2 Rainbow 🌈little sisters & an Older brother, he is LOVED and so are we all blessed with our Angel up above 🙏🏼

I will be running the 5k, I will attempt more but I commit to the 5k…
