I’m taking part in Sands Starlight Walk

I’m taking part in Sands Starlight Walk as I want to help those affected by the loss of a baby to find the light in the dark. Every day 13 babies die before, during or shortly after birth. I am raising funds to help Sands continue to build a world where more babies survive, and more families receive the happy ending they deserve.  

Please sponsor me and help Sands create a legacy of hope and comfort, showing the world how much every baby is loved.

Starlight Walk is a sponsored walk where hundreds of people come together to walk under the stars to remember their babies and raise funds for Sands. Wow - thank you everyone for your generosity, we are so touched.
For those who may not know our story...
We are doing our Starlight Walk in memory of our daughter Clara. At 18 weeks I went into premature labour. The doctors tried their best but there was nothing they could do to save our baby girl. A few days later Clara was born and sadly passed away. 
"There is no other pain that will break you in two, like saying goodbye to the baby you grew."

During my time in hospital I was in the "forget me not" suite. This room is separate on delivery suite away from other women and their babies, providing quiet and privacy. There was a double bed meaning my husband Ryan could stay with me. This room was funded by sands charity - an example of what this amazing charity does. 

We were provided with a "memory box" from sands charity. This included many things. A tiny teddy bear for Clara and one for us to keep. A book to read to her.  A note book to write to her. A tiny hat and blanket. Special ink and paper so we could have our baby's footprints forever. These boxes cost £20 and believe me when I say they are invaluable to parents in our situation. 

Sands charity provide so much support to bereaved parents. It was a charity I never thought we would need but here we are. 
So I thank you all for your donations. It really does make a difference to parents in these devastating circumstances.
