I’m jogging 31 miles in May for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to jogging 31 miles in May for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

My Updates

Another couple of miles logged tonight

Wednesday 21st May

My running buddy keeping me motivated

Sunday 18th May
Trying to keep up with charlie on his bike whilst completing my run! 🥵 🏃 Also straight after a bbq and loads of food 🤢 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’ve increased my donation target with a few more weeks left to go and also doubled my target miles now that I’m also logging my walking miles too. If anyone would like to donate to this cause the most recent link will work (this one) . Thanks again for all the support 🫶🏼

Another late one

Friday 16th May
Really struggling to respond to my 6am alarm and get out there!! Which means that I end up having to go after the children are settled. This also means I have got very little energy or motivation to get my trainers on and get moving! Despite this …once I am out it does feel somewhat easier once I get going the last few days which is good progress 😌🙏🏻

Adding my walked miles to my record

Friday 16th May
I’m logging each mile that I jog and I am aiming to complete 1-2miles each time (daily). This will ensure I reach my 31 mile target 👌🏻
I’m also walking a lot and noticed the option to also log these miles on my page so have now done that too.
My end total will be a combined amount of jogging and walking miles in May.

Some company tonight

Wednesday 14th May
My lovely Charlie bear came on his bike tonight. He didn’t realise that I can’t talk and run, or even hear him wittering on with my EarPods in!! 🎶 🏃 2km ran (chasing him on the bike) and a nice 3.6km walk afterwards through the field and home.

Chasing Sunsets!

Tuesday 13th May
Tonight I completed another 2km run then I went power walking towards the sunset to get a few more steps in before bed! (And a photo!) 📷 🌅 🏃

Sunsets

Monday 12th May
Sunsets - something i am never normally outside to enjoy until I started running in the evening…

Warm one tonight at 20 degrees

Monday 12th May
I ran 2km tonight then finished with a brisk 2.5km walk home. Nice rosy cheeks!!

Night run… another mile completed

Friday 9th May
Tough one tonight as it was late before I could get out - I was definitely more ready for a bath and bed! Anyway, got out and completed the mile followed by a 2km brisk walk home.

Quick jog “around the block” 🤣

Wednesday 7th May
Another mile ticked off tonight, although I left it pretty late today! I ran 1.8km then finished with a 3km brisk walk home.

Evening mile

Tuesday 6th May
I snoozed the 6am alarm this morning! After a 7km walk at 9ish it’s taken me all day to do my mile run! I eventually completed it while Connor was warming up at his football match. Another mile ticked off!

More cows on my morning mile today!

Monday 5th May

A mile in Gwynedd

Sunday 4th May
A warm one this morning completing my mile lap in Nefyn. A blurry image of some cows 🤣

Early start in the sunshine

Saturday 3rd May
The weather definitely makes it easier to get up at the moment! I ran 2km this morning which believe it or not was actually good progress for me! Finished with another 2km brisk walk back home. Another mile logged ✔️

Up and out at 6.15am

Friday 2nd May
I stuck to running my mile for the challenge then finished with a 2km brisk walk home

First attempt!

Thursday 1st May
Thursday 1st May That was harder than I thought! But I’ve made the first step!! Easing myself in with the first 2k. Hopefully I can build on this distance and improve my time over the next few weeks….

31 miles in May

Sunday 27th Apr
I  am jogging to raise awareness of SANDS and the fantastic work that the charity does to support parents through baby loss.

SANDS is a UK-based charity, formerly known as the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society, that supports anyone affected by the death of a baby. They offer bereavement support, aim to improve care for bereaved families, and work to reduce the number of baby deaths through research and advocacy”

I have recently started to increase my walking distance but haven’t jogged or ran for a very long time. This challenge will hopefully give me the opportunity to raise some money for a fantastic cause and also improve my fitness as I go!
