I’m running 50k in April for families facing baby loss
I’ve committed to running 50k in April for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.
Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Week 5, run 2 of couch to 5k. Suffering with an ear and sinus infection but the antibiotics are kicking in now so got up and got it done today!💪🏼

My nephew Harry’s story in Sarah’s words
Tuesday 25th MarWe went for our 20 week scan thinking we would find out if Jack would have a brother or sister, but our lives changed forever when the words "I'm so sorry, I've found a heart abnormality". 16th Feb is a day that changed everything.
He was diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and it wasn't fixable.
Telling Jack that his little brother had died was the hardest part of any of this. It broke his heart and he talks to me about Harry nearly every day.
He is my world and making sure he is ok is the only thing I care about.
Due to how far along I was, we had to stop Harry's heart. We saw his last heartbeats on a monitor, felt the last kicks and then I went home for 2 days before I could be induced and give birth. Those 2 days were the worst days of my life, he was still there but he wasn't kicking any more. I was desperate to feel just 1 last kick but that was never going to happen.
He was born at 3:32pm on Friday March 8th. I was able to spend a wonderful 24 hours with Harry. We watched bluey, read some books and I was able to have cuddles. It was a chance to have an almost normal night with him, a silent but magical night.
His funeral was beautiful, we had some poems and songs. It was a comfort to be around so many loved ones on the hardest day of our life.
It's been the hardest year of my life and 99% of the time I don't feel like I know how to socialise or be around people any more but it's true, talking about it does help.
Part of me feels like life is so unfair and I think what did we do to deserve such sadness but another part of me wakes up every morning to Jack and Jonny and I honestly can't believe how incredibly lucky I have to have them. It's so hard to have such conflicting emotions every day.
