WALKING FOR LOTTIE 👣🩷🎀

I’ve committed to walking 100K in March for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

I will be doing this in honour of my cousin and her partners beautiful daughter, Lottie.

They have given permission for me to share Lotties story in their own words:

“We suffered the devastating loss of our precious daughter Lottie on September 9th 2024, at 39 weeks and 5 days gestation.

Losing Lottie was the worst pain of loss we had ever experienced.

We arrived at the hospital that fateful day for our planned caesarean section expecting to meet our baby. After routine checks we were told Lottie had no heart beat. 

Nothing can ever prepare you for the news your baby has died and the inevitable outcome.

Pathology results later revealed Lottie had died from late onset Fetal Growth Restriction (FGR) caused by an abnormality in my placenta called Delayed Villous Maturation (DVM).

DVM is a placenta complication that happens in the 3rd trimester when the terminal villi are not as small as they should be and have fewer blood vessels.

This reduces the oxygen and nutrients to the baby.“

I will think about Lottie, and her family with every step 👣🩷
