I’m taking part in Sands Starlight Walk
I’m taking part in Sands Starlight Walk as I want to help those affected by the loss of a baby to find the light in the dark. Every day 13 babies die before, during or shortly after birth. I am raising funds to help Sands continue to build a world where more babies survive, and more families receive the happy ending they deserve.

Starlight Walk is a sponsored walk where hundreds of people come together to walk under the stars to remember their babies and raise funds for Sands. 🌟 Starlight Walk for my 2 angel babies 🌟
Saturday 19th OctI’m choosing to take part in the virtual ‘Starlight’ walk 2024 on behalf of Sands baby loss charity in early December.
I now have 2 ‘angel babies’ and struggle with the idea and concept of perhaps not becoming a mother or having my own family.
My first was in April 2020 during Covid and I had a EMA at home. Although this is against my morals and is still the hardest decision I have ever made, it was due to the dangerous situation in which I became pregnant and the volatile relationship I was in at the time. It wasn’t a safe or loving environment for a child.
My second was August 2023 in which I suffered a missed miscarriage somewhere between 10-11 weeks, which was picked up on my 12 week dating scan. I was sent home to wait for a D&C and ended up miscarrying naturally in the night, the night before the surgery. I had to go to hospital the next day due to pain, blood loss and for support.
A few months after my then relationship broke down and my partner left, whilst I was still grieving. In honesty I still am. It still hurts and I still think about it every single day.
It’s so painful when everyone around you announces pregnancies and has beautiful babies, which of course is truly a miracle.
These times have been some of the hardest in my life so far. But some things for whatever reason, no matter how hard at the time, just aren't meant to be & can be painful lessons & blessings in disguise.
Painful & poignant memories that I will remember for the rest of my life. Memories I try not to dwell on. Sands supported me more than my own (then) partner when I needed the most help. If I can help or donate any small amount, I know it will be used to support other women and families going through the loss of a child ❤️🩹
