I’m running 50k in April for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to running 50k in April for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Monday 7th Apr

I am very proud of my effort so far!

I have run a total of 11k and walked 12k.

I hope to now become more regular with the running.

I ran my first ever 5k last week which is a huge personal achievement. I don't think I'll ever enjoy running but I do notice the difference to my overall energy levels after the runs.

Post Surgery Training

Thursday 27th Mar

I had my MVA to help Dakota on their way last week. I started running again on Monday and to date have totalled just under 6k this week but the week is not out yet.

I am interval training to not over do things but quite pleased with the progress so far. I also did my first proper weight training session in 3 weeks yesterday and feeling great.

Sunday 23rd Mar

We sadly discovered our baby Dakota passed away on the 15th March 2025.

This loss has hit myself and husband extremely hard and I personally have been struggling with trying to piece life back together again. I am not a runner, in fact I detest it but I know that with Dakota in mind I will make this target even if that is little by little.

I am hoping that by aiding SANDS it will not only help myself but many other families through grief and loss.
