I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run this Baby Loss Awareness Week 9-15 October.

Saturday 12th October 2024 from westcliff library, westcliff on sea to Hadleigh bus station and back. Which is 6.8miles in total equalling 10km!

Support me as I take on 10km in support of Sands, helping them to continue to build a world where more babies survive and more families receive the happy ending they deserve.

Here's my story..  I'm going to do it, I want to share a part of it with you..

on the 3rd June 2024, I gave birth at 30 weeks + 4days gestation, to a beautiful baby boy weighing 3lb 8oz, unfortunately born sleeping.. started off a normal day did the school run with my eldest, came home felt the need to pack my hospital bag little did I know by 12.55pm I'd be rushing to the toilet and screaming.. next minute me and partner are on the phone to a&e moments later I'm in back of a ambulance, blues and twos to the hospital.. rushed in to labour ward and into a side room.. it was like a personal horror show.. over 6 different people in my room 3 nurses 2 doctors.. telling me they needed a second opinion... that right there I knew I lost our boy.. to be told your baby has past away.. and nothing they can do

13.30pm I was in hospital... I had to wait until 6pm to start my labour.. 21:35pm I knew the time came.. I met my precious perfect little boy. When we thought we was in the clear, I was loosing too much blood.. I ended up with 2 blood transfusions.. I nearly lost my own life.. now I got a second chance at living I am now living for our boy too

I hope no one ever has to feel this pain but this is the reason for me taking place in the ribbon run for Sands for all angels taken too soon 😇

£3 - could provide a Sands birth certificate for a baby whose birth cannot be registered through a register office.

£10 - could provide a hand and footprint kit to help create memories.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.
