Walk 100K in March 2025

I’m walking 100K in March for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100K in March for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

My husband and I lost our baby through miscarriage on September 23rd 2021, which was devastating.  I also lost my son's twin in pregnancy. It is very traumatic and affects you for your whole life.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

Saturday 22nd Mar
Today we walked 18.18 km!! (11.3 miles). My feet are very sore now!! The main of the walk was done walking from our home in Leigh in Sea, to Southend to watch a film at the pictures. We walked there via Prittlewell Brook which was lovely

We've reached 60k today!!

Thursday 20th Mar
We have gone over the 60k mark today!! Very pleased to have reached this milestone. Under 40k left to walk 😊

Thursday 20th Mar
Most of my 2.9 miles today were spent walking our dogs Bert and Millie over the park in the beautiful sunshine today with our daughter Lisa 😊

Wednesday 19th Mar
Only just loading walks from 14th March which have been a mixture of focused walks using strava, and walking the dogs etc. This has totalled 10.8 miles so far (17.39 km). We are getting there! 😊

Tuesday 11th Mar
We had yesterday off as my back was sore from walking so much over the weekend. 4.72km (2.93 miles) was today's walk with Adam and hid mum over Leigh Broadway. It was freezing! I had a winter coat on, wooly hat and gloves - and was so cold!! I have rosey cheeks now which are tight and burning. Frost bite in Essex lol!

Sunday 9th March

Sunday 9th Mar
Today we walked around Hadleigh Country Park, and also walked our dog. We walked 4.7 miles which is 7.56km today - now I have backache.

A walk into Southend

Saturday 8th Mar
Adam and I enjoyed a walk to Southend and back to Leigh this evening. I also walked our dogs earlier which made up the other steps recorded today 😊

Walking with the dogs

Wednesday 5th Mar
Today I walked 2.81km with our dogs. For some reason I can't add a photo of the trail, but I have put it in the gallery.

Walk along Southend seafront

Tuesday 4th Mar
Adam and I went for a walk along Southend seafront this evening for a couple of hours and walked 7.50km. :-)

First walks started!

Sunday 2nd Mar
We have completed our first small walks yesterday and today, which were less than we wanted as I haven't been well, but we still managed 3.9 miles (6.27 km). Thank you so much for your very kind donations which will make a huge difference to the lives of so many people who have lost babies and are living with the heartbreak. Let's hope the sunshine continues! :-)
