I’m walking 100km in March for families facing baby loss

I’ve committed to walking 100km in March for every much-loved baby sadly not here today.

Sands ensure that everyone affected by the loss of a baby gets the support they need and deserve when facing the toughest of times. They campaign for change, provide training for midwives and healthcare professionals, and support research so that fewer babies die and so that less families experience the tragedy of losing their baby. Anything you are able to donate means so much.

Thank you.

Day 1!

Saturday 2nd Mar
10km down another 90km to go! I absolutely loved todays walks. Feeling very motivated and blessed. Was pelted with rain, hail and wind but was so refreshing. Even saw my first daffodils of the year! Great feeling that spring is on its way.  Just got into bed, checked my watch and in total today I have done 17,724 steps! Very pleased and very excited to start a new day, night all🤍

My story

Thursday 22nd Feb
Throughout my pregnancy, I was told my baby was not very well. Through many hospital trips and then being transferred to the specialist team at Manchester hospital, we went onto find out he had a heart condition that was slowly taking him away from me. At  24 weeks, my babies heart had stopped beating. I have never felt grief like it.  I don’t think I will ever stop grieving. But I have found peace and what i believe to be a blessing in my rainbow baby, who I will be taking on this journey with me. We will not be where we are today if it wasn’t for SANDS. I have the most beautiful memories of my angel baby, Tommy.

I will forever be grateful of this amazing team.

All my love, Gemma x
