We're taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

We're taking part in Sands Ribbon Run this Baby Loss Awareness Week 9-15 October.

Support me as I take on 5, 10 or 15km in support of Sands, helping them to continue to build a world where more babies survive and more families receive the happy ending they deserve.

Ribbon Run is a sponsored run, walk or jog where thousands of people come together to remember their babies and raise funds for Sands. It’s free to sign up and it’s up to you how you take part. You can run it, walk it, push it, or jog it; alone or with friends and family.

By sponsoring me, you are helping Sands break the silence around baby loss and to continue to save babies’ lives.

£3 - could provide a Sands birth certificate for a baby whose birth cannot be registered through a register office.

£10 - could provide a hand and footprint kit to help create memories.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

Thank you so much for your generous donation. We've raised an incredible amount for Sands, and we will continue to do so for them and many other charities that have helped us at this time and in the future.

We are so lucky to have had Myles and to love him in our family for the rest of our lives. We have been so well looked after and supported, by the hospital, charities, friends, families, colleagues and strangers and we are so grateful for this and the love shown for Myles and us.

It's because of this postive and love filled outlook and attitude at this devastating time, that we are able to function, think, grieve and process. And this is allowing us to love and remember Myles and be happy that we got to have him even if just for a brief time, those moments will go on to fuel the rest of our lives, so us saying thank you will never feel enough but we do thank you, from every inch of our hearts.

Ribbon Run 2024

What can we say 🥹 a day that started in rain, turned into sun ⛈️☀️

A bit like our journey recently to say the least and to turn a cliche phrase to a meaning with matter...

- 'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.'

This storm will never pass for us, but that won't stop us from dancing in the rain and showing Myles the life he would've had and witnessed in his mum and dad 🧡 🎃

No one should've had to run today, but we're now in the one parent club no one wants to join and this means we're not alone and we have people around us who we are even more connected to by our loss and our babies 🌠

And if we can do anything in life, we can do everything for Myles. We can keep running, climbing, doing everything now for Myles and for other families that can benefit from the incredible charities and from the money we raise.

So thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of all our hearts for being so incredibly supportive and generous, and please please please keep sharing our story, talking about this cause and don't be afraid of the reason we had to run today - don't live in fear and try live life as full as you can. It's not a given for any one of us - don't take it for granted 🧡🤍

No family should have to suffer in any way, much less in situations like ours but it does unfortunately happen and charities involved that your donations are supporting, have helped so many through the losses and will go on to keep help and supporting through the future. A positive little pumpkin

Myles is and was so perfect and he was so kind to us in pregnancy and through labour and everything about his story and our experience had been magical and so full of love the only thing we wish we could change is the outcome and him not being here with us now.

We can't change that part but we are so proud to have had him and held him and love him. He was absolutely beautiful and perfect and there may be no reason for his passing at all. We have our ups and downs but it's not as bad as if we'd never even had him at all so we are grateful that we got those moments and him in our lives 🤍

But like any other parents, we love talking about Myles and his story and our journey. He's just our perfect wee positive pumpkin and light in our lives that's getting us through.🧡
