My Updates

Slight set back
Saturday 17th May We are a little worried that my calf muscle has an injury and could tear 🥲 so I’ve had a couple days rest and done a walk for today’s challenge. Really hoping in the next few days I will be able to do some interval running to get going again! Share
Second 5k (3.2 miles) in the bag for this week!
Saturday 3rd May First park run to get some more miles in 💪🏽🧡 Share
First 5K for Sands Baby Loss Charity- in memory of Belle 🤍
Thursday 1st May First run hasn’t gone too badly! Had to stop and walk for 10 mins which I didn’t record - my Kamoot route took me down a nettle filled path 🤣 Share
31 Miles for Belle – Supporting Sands Baby Loss Charity
Tuesday 29th AprI’m running 31 miles (maybe more!) this May for Sands Baby Loss Charity – in loving memory of my niece, Belle.
This is a topic that’s incredibly hard for me to talk about. Even now, nearly eight years on, I find it difficult to write these words. But I want to do this for Belle, my sister Clara and brother in law Mark - and for every family who’s experienced the heartbreak of losing a baby.
Belle was born on the morning of May 9th, 2017, at just 27 weeks. I’ll never forget the phone call saying she had arrived. There was joy and excitement – but also worry and nerves. Despite the early arrival, I had hope she would fight and stay with us.
Unfortunately later that same morning, I got the call to say she had passed away. It was the most heartbreaking news. The grief was overwhelming, and the pain I felt for my sister Clara and brother-in-law Mark is impossible to describe.
As a family, Belle’s loss has never left us. It’s something we still struggle to comprehend, even now.
Being a sister in this situation is something I found incredibly hard. I wanted so badly to be strong for Clara – to know the right things to say, to do anything I could to make her feel supported in the darkest of times.
Knowing that Sands was there for her – offering a space to grieve, connect with others, and feel heard – was so important to me and the rest of the family.
Sands supports anyone affected by pregnancy or baby loss – parents, siblings, grandparents, friends, even healthcare professionals. Their work is vital, and the comfort they provide during the worst moments is something I’ll always be grateful for.
May is a particularly tough month for us, which is why I’ve chosen now to take on this challenge. I’ll be running in honour of Belle, and in support of all the families who still need Sands’ help.
If you’re able to donate, however small – it would mean so much. Thank you 🤍

This May marks eight years since we lost our beautiful daughter Belle. Not a day passes without thinking of her, and in the moments when grief feels heavy, I’ve always had you by my side. Your love, your sensitivity, and your unwavering support have meant everything to Mark and I. You’ve honoured Belle in every way possible—acknowledging her birthdays, laying flowers 🌷 on her grave, speaking her name and holding space for her in our family. That kind of empathy is rare, and if more people had your heart, the world would be a gentler place for families like ours. Running for SANDS in Belle’s honour is just one more example of the amazing sister and best friend you are. We love you and Elliot so much and couldn’t ask for more. Thank you for always remembering Belle. P.s I’m glad I did last years walking fundraising as running in this year’s heat and just running in general is not my forté!
