I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run

I’m taking part in Sands Ribbon Run this Baby Loss Awareness Week 9-15 October.

Sands exists to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, before, during or shortly after birth, whenever this happened and for as long as they need support. 

By sponsoring me, you are helping Sands break the silence around baby loss and to continue to save babies’ lives.

£10 - could provide a hand and footprint kit to help create memories.

£20 - could provide a bereaved family with a memory box to help create and keep safe precious and lasting memories of their baby.

£35 - could answer a call from someone reaching out for support who has been through pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.

£100 - could help ensure every hospital in the UK has a dedicated Sands volunteer to help healthcare professionals access our training, guidance and support.

I am so incredibly grateful to all those who have donated, liked, commented or shared my fundraising. It really means so much.

A special thank you to those who have shared their stories with me, I will proudly honour all of our babies on my walk on Sunday 12th October.

It's been a year.

Saturday 13th Sep
A whole year since my world came crashing down.

The universe has a way of giving… and taking.

It gave me two pink lines.
It gave me hope.
It gave me dreams of what life could look like.

And then, just like that, it took it all away.

It took my breath.
It took my joy.
It took a part of me I’ll never get back.

Time moves differently after loss. Some days it feels like an eternity, other days it feels like only yesterday. But the pain is still just as heavy, just as raw, as the moment I had to say goodbye.

I learned what silence feels like where I thought there’d be cries.
I learned how heavy grief can be in an empty room.
I learned that sometimes life doesn’t follow the prayers you whisper at night.

Although we only had a short time together, those memories will last me a lifetime. I treasure them deeply, every single day. I’m grateful I got that time, because I know not everyone is given that same chance.

I often wonder what life would look like now. Whether you’d have my eyes or your father’s smile, what your little personality would be, and where life might have taken us.

But life doesn’t always go the way we hope. That’s the painful reality. The universe had other plans for me. Plans I couldn’t see then, but can start to see now.

It gave me another chance at life.
It gave me strength I never knew I had.
It gave me the courage to be braver than I ever thought possible.

Because yes, the universe takes…

But sometimes, it gives back in the most unexpected way.

And though I would give anything to have you here in my arms, I know now that it’s in our darkest moments that we truly discover the light we carry within. ✨️🤍
